(guitarist/vocalist Mat Davis and vocalist/bassist Elizabeth Blackwell)
Bay Area dark metal duo Castle will release their new album, ‘Deal Thy Fate’, onOctober 19 via Ripple Music. Recorded in Portland, OR with producer Billy Anderson(Sleep, Neurosis), ‘Deal Thy Fate’ is Castle’s fifth full-length LP and follows 2016’s Welcome To The Graveyard, an album described as “doomish, old school, classic heavy metal” (Invisible Oranges).

In advance of the release of Deal Thy FateREVOLVER premieres the new Castlesong, “Can’t Escape the Evil“, adding, “”Can’t Escape the Evil,” is an anxious, discordant banger that brings to mind the hellish riffs of late Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman while staying on the fuzzed-out path of doom.” Crank Castle‘s “Cant Escape the Evil” at this location.

“Our new song, “Can’t Escape The Evil”, has been around in riff form since the early days of the band but we held off putting it on the last couple records because we wanted to make it the cornerstone of an album,” says guitarist Mat Davis. “When we finished writing “Can’t Escape the Evil”, it quickly became the centerpiece for the new record, ‘Deal Thy Fate’, and set the tone for the rest of the album.”

Additionally, Decibel has premiered the new Castle lyric video, “Wait for Dark“, saying,“Castle have an ear for epic heavy metal.” See and hear “Wait for Dark” at this location.

Written over the course of the past year in Joshua Tree, CA’s Mojave Desert, Deal Thy Fate’s features 9 towering tracks woven with tales of folklore, dark Americana, serial killers and cult leaders. Building on the stripped-down sound of its predecessor, Deal Thy Fatesees Castle continue to push the envelope of classic heavy metal, crafting epic and memorable songs that hearken back to fuzzier times while keeping the pedal down on their own hard-edged, modern sound. Guitarist Mat Davis’ penchant for riffs that worm their way into your brain and singer/bassist Liz Blackwell’s haunted melodies soar out of the depths across the album’s 36 fist-banging minutes. The album’s striking cover art, inked by Patrick Zoller, reflects the title track’s no compromise, choose-your-own destiny rally cry.

Castle was forged in San Francisco in 2009 and released its debut full-length, In Witch Order, via Germany’s Ván Records in 2011. The album brought light to the newly-formed band and earned them “Album Of The Year” honors from Metal Hammer Norway. Shortly thereafter, Castle joined the Prosthetic Records roster in North America and released both their critically-acclaimed sophomore album Blacklands, which led to a Canadian JUNO nomination for “Metal/Hard Music Album Of The Year”, and 2014’s influential follow-up LP, Under Siege. Since its debut, Castle has maintained a relentless tour schedule, performing hundreds of shows worldwide alongside the likes of The Sword, Conan, Intronaut, and Pentagram, and more. The group has appeared as part of the underground’s largest music festivals including Roadburn, the London and Berlin Desertfests and last year completed its first-ever tour of Japan.

“If there’s one thing you should know about Castle, it’s that they are perhaps the hardest working occult/doom rock band in the world. Of course, when they’re not being unmatched road dogs, they’re recording albums.” – DECIBEL
